The transition from summer clothes to fall clothes can be a big jump! After all, you probably spent a lot of the summer in a swimming suit, tank, sandals, and/or shorts. It can be quite a transition to wearing sweaters, boots, and full pants. So, as you’re dusting off all of your fall clothes, you might want to grab a few new staples. Here are 5 wardrobe staples that will help you look your best this fall!
1. Boots Galore
There’s nothing that says fall like boots! Ankle boots and calf-high boots are both must-haves when it comes to fall. Having them in neutrals such as blacks and browns is the best place to start. If you’re wanting something a little more bold, whites, creams, and tans are also neutral, but a little less common. Boots are incredibly versatile and can be worn with everything from jeans to leggings, to even dresses and skirts.
2. Cardigans
Another great thing your fall wardrobe needs is cardigans. Like boots, cardigans for women are also really versatile and go with almost everything. So, you can wear them on a date, to the office, to church, and even out and about. They’re great to throw on when there is a slight chill, and they are always there for you in a pinch. They are lightweight and easy to keep in your purse or desk drawer for moments when you might need them! So you’ll always look polished and warm.
3. Flannels and Shackets
When you think of fall, you probably think of flannels. They’re just a natural choice for any fall wardrobe. They can also be layered over basic tees, jeans, leggings, etc. They go so well with everything. They also keep you warm!
If you want something a little heavier than a flannel for warmth, you can always try a shacket. Shackets are newer to the fall fashion scene, and they look a lot like a flannel. They might look like a flannel on the outside with a fun plaid print, but the inside has a fluffy sherpa fabric to keep you warm. They are so warm and cozy, that you’ll probably want at least five!
4. A Great Pair of Jeans
No fall wardrobe is complete without a few great pairs of jeans. You’ll probably want to go with darker washes for the colder months. Distressed jeans are also super in, but keep in mind if they’re super holey they might not be able to be worn in the winter if you live somewhere very cold. Having 2-4 sturdy pairs of jeans in different colors and washes is great for anyone’s fall wardrobe.
5. Basic Tees
One of our fall favorites is basic tees. They’re the best for layering which is a must in the fall. When the weather is so unpredictable and can change quickly, you might find that your outfit that was toasty in the morning is way too hot for the summer afternoon. That’s why layering a short sleeve basic tee under your coats and sweaters can make it easier to stay cooler and fashionable. If you’re looking for some great basic tees, sweetsalt.com has some of our favorites!
